Romano's, is a true family run business where we, Steve, Melissa, Taylor and Zoe all share a passion to serve our local community on a daily basis and visitors to the area year round. Romano's is named after Steve's 'zio Romano' (Uncle Romano) originally from Itri, a small city in the province Lazio, central Italy.
We have tried to recreate the feeling of a traditional Trattoria, Salumeria e negozio locale - just like those all over Italy but here in Carbis Bay
Traditionally a trattoria is typically rooted in tradition, often without set or printed menu, with casual service, and food and drink offerings that follow regional, local and seasonal recipes.
Sometimes, food is served family-style, at common tables with wine sold by the decanter rather than the bottle. Trattorie may offer takeaway.
This tradition has waned in recent decades. Many Trattorie have taken on some of the trappings of a ristorante, providing relatively few concessions to the old rustic and familial style. The name trattoria has also been adopted by some high-level restaurants.
We aim to go back to some of the old Trattorie ways as best we can, with our menu changing weekly and guests being encouraged to choose platters and dishes to share, to relax and slow down.
We stock a good selection of real Italian products along side cured meats, cheeses and antipasti. Our home made bread, cakes and pastries are a real treat. We also pride ourselves on our coffee and our carefully selected menu of quality Italian wines, beers and stunning soft drinks, all available to drink in or take home.
Whether you’re after a quick panino for lunch, an evening out with platter to share, or selection of Italian products for an elaborate Italian feast at home, we will have have something for you.
We try to offer our guests the best that Italy has to offer right here in our cosy Cornish slice of Italy.
